Just In: The International Cricket Council has revealed the prize money’s increased worth for the 2022 T20 World Cup. From October 16 to November 13, Australia will host the massive cricket tournament, with the Finals taking place on November 13.
According to the official news, the entire pool prize is $5.6. The tournament winner will be entitled to $1.6 million in prize money, while the runners-up will receive $800,000. The losing semi-finalists will get a payout of $400,000 apiece.
The ICC has also put aside $70,000 in prize money for the eight teams that will not advance to the Semi-Finals. But just like the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, the prize money for winning each of the Super 12 rounds matches will be $ 40,000.
The Super 12s have already been confirmed for Pakistan, India, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa. Namibia, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the West Indies, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe will compete in the Qualifying Rounds before joining them.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be held in Australia from October 17. According to the schedule, the event includes 45 matches, including the Semi-Finals and Finals. As the event’s dates approach, the majority of the participating teams have begun to reveal their potential squads.
However, the event’s unqualified teams will compete in the Qualifying Rounds, which begin on October 13, before the commencement of the main rounds. Notably, only four of the eight clubs will advance to the Super 12.
