Sri Lanka was once a dominating side in the T20 format with the likes of Dilshan, Sangakkara, and Jayawardene. In T20 World Cup 2007, Sri Lanka posted a huge total of 260/6 while batting first against Kenya in 20 overs at Johannesburg on 14th September 2007.
It was the 8th Group C match in the Round 1 phase of the T20 World Cup. SanathJaysuria with the fastest 88 and Mahela Jayawardene with quick 65 lead the foundation of this big target.

This was the 18th T20 World Cup 2016 match when South Africa set a mountainous sum of 229 for 4 while batting first against England. England in return, chase down the target by posting the 2nd highest total of the T20 World Cup history of 230/8.

South Africa was once among the top side in T20 format. In 2016, they posted the 3rd highest total of T20 world Cup history while batting first against England.
The 18th match of T20 World Cup 2016 witnessed a total of 450+ runs altogether in both innings. Though England chased down the target in the 2nd innings, South Africa still has the 3rd highest total in T20 World Cup history.

In the inaugural season of the T20 World Cup 2007, India posted a huge target of 218/4 while batting first against England at Durban on 19th September 2007. This was the 21st Group and night match between India and England.
With the fastest fifties from Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh India were able to post 218/4 while batting first against England in 20 overs.

This was the 5th Group D match in T20 World Cup 2009 that took place at The Oval on 7th June 2009 between South Africa and Scotland. There, South Africa posted a large sum of 211/5 while batting first against Scotland. South African innings were powered by Ab De Villier’s fastest 79 innings.

Indian Opener KL Rahul smashed 69 runs in that innings. Whereas, his partner Rohit Sharma achieved 89 runs in return. As a result, India was able to post the 6th highest total in T20 World Cups.
South Africa 209/5
South Africa is the only team to appear not only twice but thrice on our list of highest totals in T20 World Cups. What a glorious past they had in T20 format.

In T20 World Cup 2016, South Africa posted the 7th highest total in T20 World Cup history while batting first against Afghanistan. This was the 20th Super 10 match between South Africa and Afghanistan that took place at Mumbai Cricket Stadium India.

When West Indies posted a large target of 205/6 while batting first against South Africa. The protease replied by posting the 7th highest total in T20 World Cups of 208/2.

West Indies recorded one of the highest totals in T20 World Cups by posting 205/6 against South Africa. Chris Gayle was the star of the match with his first T20 World Cup hundred of 117.

This was the 2nd semi-final match of T20 WC 2012 when West Indies recorded 205/4 while batting first against Australia at Colombo cricket stadium on 5th October 2012. Chris Gayle was the highest scorer for West Indies in that match with his quick 75.
